Product Overview

The hot wire method is a transient method for measuring the thermal conductivity of materials. Its principle is to place a resistance wire, the so-called "hot wire", in a homogeneous, isotropic sample at a uniform temperature. When the hot wire releases heat at a constant power, the temperature of the hot wire and the sample in its vicinity will rise over time. The thermal conductivity of the sample can be determined based on the relationship between its temperature and time. Thermal conductivity: Under heat transfer conditions, it represents the amount of heat transferred per unit area per unit time when the temperature difference between two planes separated by a unit length is one unit (K). The unit is W/(m·K).
